Kansas Kup Kakes

Thursday, November 20, 2008

These are some cupcakes I made for my friend Amber's birthday party tomorrow night. I made them very quickly, so they are a little sloppy, and runny, but fun. She went to Kansas, so as a nod to that, she gets sunflowers (from Hello, Cupcakes--->of course).

I know I am really tired because I was looking at the center of the flower and I thought how cool were the designs you made. And then I thought how crazy you must be to do that on each one. Then I realized it was an oreo cookie and Thanked God I at least realized it at some point instead of spending the rest of my life thinking you drew crazy "crop circle" type designs on cupcakes for fun.

That's funny, no-Hello, Cupcakes is the best b/c there are no crop circles to recreate. I actually found out (after buying double stuffed oreos) to pull the tops off and just use those b/c it was too fat and the leaves didn't look right with the center. The recipe also said to put have orange and have yellow leaves-I cut that out as well, along with green leaves. The red things are M&M's.....I think maybe that's too much info, but people weren't sure they were edible. I want to say I've seen these served in a flower pot, which is cute....but too much work for a late weeknights baking!
