Twilight Test Tubes of Tomato Soup

My 'Twilight' Post for this week:
This is a sneak peak at one of the 'bite size' dishes I plan to have at my Twilight Extravaganza (it gets bigger every time I blog about it)...that's what time and exageration will get ya! Tomato Soup Shots...or rather test tubes.

I did some research on where to get the best deal for test tubes, and I did some calling around locally. I didn't have a lot of luck. I finally found a company that provided the tubes, and the stoppers at a reasonable price. I bought the test tubes here: http://www.pelletlab.com/test_tube. It's a good thing I saved this website b/c a few of them rolled off the table in my sticker sticking distraction, so I may need a few more.
Which brings me to the stickers. I printed off some blood types on labels. I've seen this idea a lot around the web using drink shots, BUT I have a different drink in mind I'll share soon. Just you wait Henry Higgins, just you wait! Sorry...I digressed, really, this whole blog is me digressing, but back to the pointless point of this post.
There is a scene from the book that involves some blood testing in a science lab....so this is a nod to that scene, oh, and blood's kinda a big deal in every Twilight book. If you don't know this already, you probably didn't make it this far in my post. If you don't know this but did make it this far, it's really not that bad, trust me, I'm the girl voted least likely to ever read anything that's not about butterflies, hearts, and puppies. If you did know about the lab scene....here's my little soup appetizer. There are going to be lots more dishes that are specific to various scenes/locations. I found this jar of Tomato Soup from Le Madeline's at Sams. Goodness, gracious, this stuff is wonderful-far more wonderful than anything I could have made. I'm going to fill the container I put the soups in with the oyster crackers to hold them up, and then the stoppers can be removed, and crackers can be added....or something. Soup needs crackers, even if it's bite size....or swig size. There should be a picture or two of these filled from my party pics (less than a month from now!)...if I don't give up on picture taking 4 hours before the party starts....which tends to happen with me at EVERY party.

FYI, Dollar Tree had some glass test tubes with cork tops. In the candle section, I think they had inscense cones in them, but you could wash/sanitize them for future uses...

I'll start off by confessing I don't know much (anything) about Twilight, but I *do* love Halloween...this is a fantastic idea. I've been saving the tubes that vanilla beans come in; this will be great for those tubes.
: )
Thanks!
