Halloween-Candy Corn: Candy Corn Rice Crispie Treats

Friday, October 15, 2010

I love rice crispie treats, and I just discovered you can actually dye them....this may have just changed my life as I know it.  I saw this cute tutorial for candycorn rice crispie treats here, and I knew I'd be trying it.  I'll take any excuse to make rice crispie treats!!!  Basically, make the marshmallow/butter mix in a pan (4 cups of marshmallows to 3 T butter).  Divide the melted marshmallows into thirds, and dye two of the three bowls orange, and yellow.  Once the marshmallow mix is dyed, add 2 c. of rice crispies to each melted marshmallow mix, and stir.  Press the yellow dyed rice crispies into a greased 9x9 baking dish.  Pack it down firmly, and then add the yellow rice crispie mix.  Last, add the undyed rice crispie mix.  Cover and let cool.
Cut into triangles, and eat them before anyone else knows you made them so you won't feel obligated to share.

Yummy! I bet you could also, and in addition, mix actual pieces of candy corn into the rice krispies/marshmallow mixture....
Candy corn is just so dreamy...
