Crockpot Honey Glazed Ham

My extended family recently came for a visit, and my oldest cousin really likes ham.  I decided to try this (traditional Easter) dish out...crockpot style.  I love that the crockpot frees up the oven for all the side dishes, AND this fulfilled one my check on my quest to cook at least 10 new dishes in the crockpot this year.  I haven't found too many that I actually like, but this one turned out well, and so I'm sharing for my sake for future quest for sanity during holiday meal making!
I chose this one because it used apple cider vinegar and (true story) I have two bottles of the stuff I've been trying to use up.  I bought it more than a year ago because it works for some people when it comes to gallbladder attacks.  Long story short-I'm not one of those people and I just got a few weeks worth of vinegar chugging, and an appointment with a surgeon...and then a big ol' bill...eww.  I'm just throwing that out there.  Oh, how I wanted that to work for me, despite the glasses of vinegar.
I originally found this recipe here
I didn't use the bone in ham, and I'd cut down the thyme by half next go round.
Instructions for Crockpot Honey Glazed Ham
Ingredients:  5-7 ham, 1/4 c. apple cider vinegar, 1/4 c. honey, 1/4 c. (melted) butter, 1 t. worcestershire sauce, 1 T. brown sugar, 2 t. ground thyme
Instructions:  Place ham in crockpot.  Mix remaining ingredients and pour over the ham.  Cook on low for 6 hours.

  1. Vinegar chugging aside (Eew!), this sounds delicious. I love ham, but I never cook it. Great crockpot recipe, Christy. Good luck with the surgeon :)

  4. I love vinegar- isn't that stange? But not to chug. Over spinach is my favorite.

That aside, I just can't believe you don't love your crockpot. I have lots of recipes under the cooking link on my blog. And a blog link to Crockpot 365 on my blog too. Her recipes are fantastic and she gives a detailed, honest review of them too.

    Happy Easter!
