Teaching Tuesday: Mock Tales

Tuesday, May 28, 2019 No comments
OK, so this isn't exactly a lesson, but it is teacher related. The leadership team at my school rolls around a cart a few times a semester with a fun treat.  This May we put together this Mock Tail cart on Buddy Fun Day.  We figured it would be a hot day....but ended up having field day inside, but nobody complained about a cold beverage, even though we didn't sweat outside first.
I found some fun cups at Party City, umbrellas via Amazon, and summer straws from Dollar Tree.  Each person on the team brought a soda/water and then some sort of fruit to float in the drink as a fun side (limes, lemons, pineapples, cherries, and some cherry flavor).
It was a super simple, but fun treat to personalize for each teacher.

Oatmeal Bar

Just a quick and fun idea.....an oatmeal bar.  We made a mini version of this for a meeting at work.  We've been going with fairy tales all year, and this went with a Goldilock's themed meeting to find the 'just right' instruction of the kiddos.
We brought in a pot of hot water, then provided all the makings for some fun oatmeal...
Brown sugar, dried apples, raisins, nuts and cinnamon.....better than I expected.

Chili Bar

Here's a simple idea for serving something easy to a crowd.  I've seen these around, more elaborate in some cases, but.....this fit the needs of some people I invited over a little while back for a sporting event.  I cooked up chili, and hot dogs in a crock pot (I blogged about that yesterday).  I added mini buns, fritoes, crackers, cheese, chopped onions, sour cream, and bowls to fix up a bowl however the mood fit.  I was in the mood for it all.  I'd say it was a success, there was nothing left at the end of the evening, so.....I'll be filing it away for another occasion.  I just love build your own bars.
