Cheese Pop Appetizers

Tuesday, March 02, 2010

A lady I worked with a long time ago had a son that was a chef, and I was talking to her one day prior to a party I was going to host, and we were discussing the menu (I love discussing the details...of everything). She told me about these little cheese things. I tried them out....and I've continued to 'try them out' again...and again. I like them a lot b/c they are sooooooooo easy. There are only three ingredients. They are quick to make. And it's cheese...and it's bread....and that alone should be the selling factor-yum!
Basically: You need 1 can of crescent rolls (get the name brand, the store brand is just not as good), 8 oz of cheese squares (You can square you own, but....they do sell it already cut for you if you want to save time....I want to save time. Use any cheese you like, I used cheddar today, but...there are lots of fun flavors to experiment with.), 1/8 c. of sesame seeds (I got a large container at a nearby Asian Grocery store that has lasted for several YEARS, and many, many of these-I'm sure the grocery store sells them too).
1. Cut each crescent triangle into three equal pieces.
2. Wrap each crescent piece around the cheese, covering it completely. Cheese will still ooze out of some, but this helps.

3. Roll the balls in the seeds, and then place them in mini-muffin tins.

4. Bake however long the crescent can calls for (about 12 minutes) until golden brown.
Here they are: Gooey and Ready to Eat
