Rotini Pasta "Pizza"
Wednesday, May 06, 2009
I don't know the real name of this dish, I found it in a cookbook at a friend's house a few weeks back. If you like meat/pasta recipes, it's pretty good, and the pepperoni was a yummy touch. It's a hearty meal, but some nights call for the traditional. Regan and I decided we would try a new recipe each month, so here's my recipe for May!
Cook 2 C. of Rotini, drain and set aside.
Brown 1 1/2 pounds of hamburger meat, and 1/2 med onions, drain grease.
Combine: 1 can (14 oz) of Pizza Sauce, 1 can (8 oz) of Tomato Sauce, 1 can (6 oz) of Tomato Paste, 1/2 t. Sugar, 1/2 t. Garlic Salt, 1/2 t. Dried Oregano.
Add Pasta and Meat to Sauce Mixture.
Layers: Spread 1/2 of mix into a 3 qt baking dish. Sprinkle 1 C. Mozzarella Cheese on Pasta, Spread the last 1/2 of pasta mix over cheese. Add 1 MORE C. of Mozzarella Cheese on top of the Mix. Place Pepperoni Slices on top of cheese, and bake for 30 Min at 350 Degrees.
