First stop: Pisa to visit the Square of Miracles and admire the Leaning Tower, and get one of those pictures that looks like you are holding it up...of course! Next, we head northwards through Tuscan hills across the River Po into the Lombardy Plains, crossing into Switzerland for a stop in lakeside Lugano. In the afternoon, we traveled through Alpine scenery through the St. Gotthard Tunnel and head down to Lake Lucerne for an overnight stay.
