Mardi Gras: Hush Puppies

Once upon a time, I made some hushpuppies.

They were very good. Very, very good.

Epilogue:
Here is the recipe....
INGREDIENTS
1/2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 c. corn meal
2 t. baking powder
1 T sugar
1/2 t. salt
1 egg, beaten
3/4 c. milk
1 small onion, finely chopped
Cooking Oil
DIRECTIONS
Sift all dry ingredients together. Add onion. Add egg and milk, stir lightly. Drop by T. into hot oil. Fry until golden brown, flip halfway through cooking. Drain on paper towel. Makes 20.
I served these in newspaper cones....very fish and chip-ie.
