On-A-Stick: Baby Blanket Pop

Wednesday, May 18, 2011
I saw some little baby supplies rolled up and put on lollipop sticks at a craft store a few months back.  I wanted to make a friend a blanket for her baby shower, and I decided to apply this same technique, I'm sure I'm not the first to do this, and I can tell you it won't be the last time I personally try this out b/c it's such a fun way to deliver a gift.  Bought blankets would work just as well, but I grabbed two really soft fabrics at a JoAnnes Fabric store, and some blanket binding.  I lined them all up....
 Pinned all the edges down...
 ...and sewed to completion.
I then folded in over and over into a small line of fabric, rolled, and tied using some scrap fabric around the sides.
I added a dowel rod from a craft store, cellophane wrap, and a ribbon.  Gifts on a stick....they never get old!

What a great idea! It would be so cute to pair that with the onesie cupcakes I've seen and a diaper cake!

I love the blanket pop! I pinned it on my baby crafts board so more people would find your idea.

If you would rather it not be on my board, just contact me via the addy posted on the footer of my website and I'll take it right down.

Love the blanket pop idea. I wanted to see how you sewed the bias tape - all at once or sewn twice?

Multiply the amount of cups by 16, then divide that number by the amount of squares you plan to sew. If you are more curious about best weighted blankets then you can learn more about it on familycookware.
