Summer Road Trip 2010: Indiana
Friday, June 25, 2010
Well this was unexpected....
I, apparently, need to brush up on my geography b/c I had no idea I'd be touching Indiana at all. In fact, I didn't get a chance to see or do anything other than observe the state from the inside of my car because of this little oversight. I've 'touched' the state on one other occasion, but for no longer than 20 minutes. It's a state I definitely need to come back to and explore someday, which is why I'm posting about it at all. I just think it needs it's own little blog post b/c I bet it's charming, and I need to know more.
This journey through was a bit longer. I saw a lot of industries along the roadside. I also saw a lot of state parks, and sand dunes.
OK, and this was just too friendly (and funny), even a little greeting from the Gary, Indiana sanitation department.
Any state with a sanitation department along the road that says, 'hello' (and makes me giggle) is one I need to add on the list of 'explore in greater depth.' I should also say, if you made it this far, I'm always taking travel advice. The best places I visit are the ones I'm advised to visit by friends, it saves me the time of finding them myself! It also keeps me off the streets, and the likelihood of me knocking on your door because I'm bored is lower b/c I'll have a 'task to do.' That should be incentive enough.
