This was so easy, I almost didn't post it, but....hopefully this will inspire me to get moving on some other projects if I DO post it. I bought some adorable, expensive, school house light covers for my bathroom make over awhile back. I am currently all about school house lighting, so when I broke the light in my laundry room for the second time....I decided to DIY a little light.
I found this 'school house' style light at Home Depot for 7 dollars. I used a paper cutter and slice 1/4 inch vinyl pieces and I just ran them around the light. They aren't even completely 'even', but they still look good and are holding strong. So, when I break this light, I won't be so sad b/c I'll know how to make a new one. It looks cute with the other décor in the laundry room, but....the laundry room is currently a mess, so.....click here for old photos, and someday I'll add new photos.

Laundry Room Mirror

This is my unfinished laundry room a month or so back. I will post it all in another post, but I did a bunch of different projects to try to make it a little more fun....as fun as laundry can be. I also TRIED to keep the budget low since I SHOULD be the only one frequenting the room, but it's become a catch all that is slightly frightening.
There are no windows in the room because it used to be part of the garage that the owners before me walled off. To lighten up I painted the walls white, and I've found in the past if I added mirrors it sometimes seems lighter (at least to me) because it catches some more light. Normally, I would have hunted down a mirror at a thrift store for dollars, but....it was a busy time, so I found this one at Walmart for ten bucks. I taped off the mirror part and gave it a couple sprays of some mint paint I had. I then bought a svg file on Etsy and cut it out on my cricut and applied it to the mirror. It was a really quick project, but it makes a big impact.

In January, I FINALLYdecided to tackle my Laundry Room/Utility Room. Through the years it had become this place where I shoved everything I kept meaning to do something with until it became almost unwalkable. In the last few years I've redone my bedroom, closet, craft room, and now my utility room. My living room/kitchen/yard that everyone sees needs some major TLC, but.....their day will come. Redoing these unseen rooms actually makes the biggest impact on me I breath so much easier! As much as I wanted to go all out-I used the shelves and things I had already. I did give the walls a coat of white paint b/c it's a dark room, and I threw down a rug over the concrete floor. Maybe I'll go back SOMEDAY and add some 'real floors', but there are so many other things in my house that need some attention, and this is a million times better than it was. I don't have a before in this case b/c....I'd like to be left with some dignity. It was a hard room to photograph b/c it's long and skinny (an add on from the garage), so I took a video TRYING to show a bit more....that video lives here....
