December Daily 2017

I started reading about December Daily last year around Christmas. The basic goal is to document each day of December (some people stop at Christmas, I did the whole month since my family didn't come into down until the 25th). I tried to do it each night, though there were several times I waited and did a couple days at a time.
I think if I did it again, I would probably not feel guilty about waiting until after December to really get into it and complete/or even start. I'd try to organize pictures and maybe even jot down daily stories and thoughts as the month rolls by, but.....just to ensure no time was taken from living in the moments....which I think is what a lot of folks do anyway, future me, you have permission to do December daily in July.
You can use the project life style photo inserts, which I did some. This does make it a LOT quicker to scrapbook, as does the 6x8 size. I did a combo of the plastic pockets and some pages of just scrapbook paper. I also didn't pick a color scheme, but....eclectic is more my style and matching is something I appreciate in other albums, but not something I enjoy working on. I bought several kits via Ali Edwards website Octoberish, which I loved, and then I lost my mind at every craft store and online site I could find in the United States of America, which basically means I have to scrapbook every December for myself and my 12 closest friends for the next 16 years to put a dent in my supply.
Something to look forward to...

I'm slowly, kind of sort of, getting my life back together after chaos hit these last few months. This December I've been doing something called December Daily. Eventually, I'll go into full detail, but for the sake of time right now, I've been videoing the pages. Here is one of several videos.
I love it b/c it's a smaller album, and it goes well with my photo a day project (housed on Instagram). I'm of for two weeks, so my goal is to finish up some projects around the house I started 4 months ago and start updating my blog again.

This year I'm doing something called December Daily The idea is that you do a page for each day of the month, which goes well with my photo a day.
I'm going to do some videos on youtube b/c ther are so many 'pulls' and 'flips.' Here are a few phots of the first few pages. The first day was all about my Christmas cards. I made a list of who all I sent cards to this year and I'm going to write who all I get them from on the back so that I can make my list for next year.
Day 2 and 3 involvd a short trip to San Antoni. I'm not sure I'm done yet, but you ge the idea....and I have the next few weeks to add when the mood strikes.
The 6x8 size and little sleeves a lot f these albums house is throwming me of b/c it really does make it easier...so I keep thinking I need something more. So far I'm loving it, and if I continue to love it I have enough supplies to scrapbook the next 50 Christmas seasons, so.....there is that.

December Daily: The Reason Why

This year I'm planning on participating in December Daily. I'm trying to set up a few pages in advance b/c based on my calendar already it's going to be a busy December. I'm going to try to keep up, but it's easy to say now. Last week I made a calendar for my album, and this week I finished my reason why.
The gist behind this page is that you set a purpose or a reason why (novel, I know) behind why you want to scrapbook December on a daily basis. I'm not doing a traditional 12x12. I'm trying out the 6x8 form with pockets and cards so that scrapbook will be a lot easier day to day. I've also been posting my haul videos here. I am pretty sure I'm set to do December Daily for the next 14 years, but whatever...you never know when the scrapbook stores are going to have a drought.

This year I'm going to join the December Daily bandwagon. As a single, it's not something I'll necessarily do every year (or I might), but this year (I think) my whole family will be in town, so I thought it might be a nice way to record the memories.
I've been shopping. I posted some of my hauls on youtube, with a few more to come. I don't usually do hauls...or youtube, but I might try more videos because it does help tell the story better in some cases...I just have to figure out the camera situation! I decided to share the hauls b/c there can be so many details, and nothing bugs me more than wondering where someone got something, so.....now I can refer back.
Obviously, it's not December yet but once December hits I'd like to keep up with my album on a weekly basis, since I'll be juggling that with the busiest month....I've decided to do some prep, though I still want to leave room for spontaneous plans.
One thing I can do in advance is a calendar. Here's a link to the free printable. There are some calendars that are provided each year for free, and if I were a patient person...I'd wait. But, I'm not a patient person. I added a few little enamel dots (from Hobby Lobby), a ticket (from the Dollar tree) and a little sticker that says 'stories' from October Afternoon. My plan is to fill this out day by day.
