The Decades: Pacman Fortune Cookies

Friday, January 07, 2011 1 comment
These could not be any easier.  I saw them on a wedding website a year or so ago.  I can't remember the specifics, and I certainly can't explain how this fit into a wedding, but....it's cute.  I had two fortune cookies.  I like pacman...so much this is my second pacman post of the week.  I made the bow with two heart shaped sprinkles, and a dab of melted chocolate.  No ghost were harmed in the making of these fortune cookies.

The Decades: The Breakfast Club

This probably won't change anyone's life, but this is a little something we put together at work for a data driven meeting.  It's always good to feed people when you start talking numbers, charts, graphs, and groups.  We 'invited' (aka informed teachers they have to go) the teachers via an invitation attached to this spoon.  This is cute quote towards the end of the movie, it's attached to one side with a picture, and the other side had our quick version of the letter for 'our' breakfast club meeting.
There are five characters, so my teammate and I grabbed 5 different kinds of cereal, attached pictures of the five detention serving cast members, added milk and scoops, and crunched our way through the meetings.

The Decades: Ghost Buster's Slimmer Pudding

Remember Ghost Buster?  Remember Slimmer?  I think he's a necessary addition to any 80's dessert bar.  I dyed some vanilla pudding with a few drops of green dye, and then used whipped cream, and mini chocolate chips for the ghost (Slimmer... in his slime, or...art.).  I could have piped him on with a carton of whipped cream to make him a little more perfect, but I leave perfection to other people, it's not my calling.  I think you definitely need the 'No Ghost' Sign for this guy on that imaginary 80's dessert bar!  The good news is...use the right ingredients and he's tasty and low calorie.

The Decades: Pac-Man Cookies

Ms. Pacman is my all time favorite game.  This year at work, I made some of these and delivered them with some 'reading information' at the beginning of the year.  I marked off each new section with the fruit eaten in the game (instead of bullets).  I even researched the fruit Ms. Pacman eats, and the order she eats it in within the life changing game of Ms. Pacman.  I would like to file this post under-"Things I do, and spend too much time thinking about that nobody else will ever notice, but it matters to me, oh yes indeed, I would still be losing sleep if I didn't do this...."  Not to be confused with my file labed, "Run on sentence, why they make life more interesting, who should use them, why the world can't live without them, ever, never ever, not one day should go by without a run on."
In other news, Ms. and Mr. Pacman were easy to throw together.  I cut out a circle of sugar cookie dough, then used a sharp knife to carve out their mouths.

I then iced them (the bows are actually heart sprinkles, and I think the mini kisses make her look like she has lashes, which she does, because she's glamorous. I left off her lips, though I could have used smaller hearts, it was just too much for me)  I used this method for icing, and I added a T. of light corn syrup to my icing, and let the sit on a tray in the (cool) oven overnight so the icing would harden, and they could be bagged, like this...
I'm sure these cookies, and the riveting reading information went a long way in changing the lives of the teachers I work with....In the immortal words of my childhood, 90's self, "Not!"
