Easy and Cheap Thanksgiving Table Ideas

 I putting together some easy ideas for Thanksgiving tables....
A year or so ago I picked up some acorns on a walk.  I love acorns...they look like little people wearing hats.  It's really hard not for me to talk to them, but.....I've resisted...thus far.
The caps popped off, so I started by hot gluing the caps back on the acorns.

 I gave them a quick spray with gold spray paint and then filled some candle holders with these at the bottom and added a fall candle.  Easy, and practically free.

Acorn Ginger Bread and Cream Cheese Cookies

I used the icing from my gingerbread cupcake recipe, and the recipe for these really...really good soft gingerbread cookies.  To make these acorn cookies. 

I used a pumpking cookie cutter, and turn it on it's side, and popped off the stem with a knife. 

I inserted a fat piece of pretzel rod as soon as the cookies came out of the oven, ice the top, added sprinkles, and called it a day.  These were really yummy with the icing.  They didn't win any beauty pageants, but hey....I can live with that!
