Saint Patrick's Day Wreath

 This year I wanted to make something a little less glittery and shamrock-ee for my door.  I saw a wreath like this on pinterest and it reminded me so much of Ireland-the moss and colorful flowers.  I also found some little wood chips at the store.  I glued them all to the wreath and then made some little gnomes.

 I wrapped toilet paper tubes with felt and glued it down.

 I pinched the top in to give it a little more shape.

I made a little cone hat with felt and glue on some fuzzy material for a beard and a little wooden button nose.  I made each a little different so you could tell them apart.  ;o)

Fairy Bubble Wand

 I  made these fairy bubble wands that should be airing (I think) on March 6th on GMT.  They are really simple and cute.  You can adapt them  by using plastic sticks so make them a little safer (dowel rods making me nervous for little kiddos).

 I bought some beads at the dollar store, as well as some for half off at the craft store in some fun spring shapes.  I also got some 16 Gage wire from the jewelry section so it would hold it's shape.

I used some wire cutters, but you can also use scissors and just bend it back and forth a few times once you create that indent with scissors.  Another alternative would be to use a pipe cleaner.  I wrapped it around the dowel rod and then I added some floral tape and hot glue and a ribbon just to keep it really firmly in place.  Next up....bubbles.

Rainbow Seeds by Mail

 I try to send fun things through the mail to my godchildren for all the holidays.  I love that they are old enough to get excited about mail....though it didn't stop me when they were babies.

 Last ST Patrick's Day I sent some rainbow seeds....formerly known as Skittles.  I opened the box, added a fun label, slipped some little cards inside for my godchild and his brothers and then taped it back up.

The fun thing is that for just a few bucks you can mail boxes of candies straight in their original box, which is always a fun surprise.  Sure, it seems silly to mail a dollar box of candy for two or three additional bucks, but.....if you've been to a movie lately, it's practically a bargain on candy.

Saint Patrick's Day Pinata

I made these little leprechaun hat pinatas this year.

I used toilet paper rolls and green construction paper, so....low budget for sure! 

I traced the circle on the paper, cut a little larger circle and then created a fringe I could fold down/glue onto  the tube. I then cut a fringe around the tube as well and added more green to cover the sides of the leprechaun hat.

At this point I filled it with treats and added a coin with a string tied/taped to it that would become my pull.

I taped the hat 'flaps down to another pieec of paper I cut to be the shape of the brim of the hat.

I took a second piece of the same width (that I cut a circle out of-tracing the width of the tube again) and placed this over all of my tape.

I decorated and added a 'pull' tag to my string.  

Dollar Store Banner

I put together this little Saint Patrick's Day banner using some Dollar Tree Clovers and left over yarn from a crochet project last fall.  

I made little pom poms and punched holes in the clovers to string on some green twine.  

 I wrapped yarn around three of my fingers 30 times.  If you wanted a puffier pom pom, wrap it more times.

I then cut the loops on both sides of the tied middle (but I left the longer two strings at this point).  Here is a photo of one halfway finished.  

 I then used the two strands that were longer to tie it onto the twine, and then cut the extra excess off.

Pet Unicorn

 One of my friends and I spend a lot of time talking about unicorns.  It's a joke...sort of.  With that in mind, I like to randomly send stuff through the mail just as a surprise.  I love packages, and so a surprise package would be the ultimate gift for me, so....I give what I want to get.  I have these little duck unicorns I bought from Oriental Trading awhile back.  I also had these little white boxes I was going to use to mail shower invites, but time wasn't my friend, so....they are sitting in my house waiting for a purpose.

 I put the unicorn's care instructions inside the box.  It turns out unicorns sometimes needs additional horns (sold at Party City), they eat skittles (ironically, a well loved treat my friend and I share).  They need to be told fairy tales at bedtime, and they like to listen to music in the morning-in particular, 90's boy bands.

I put all the essential pieces for caring for a unicorn and sent it on it's way because-who doesn't want to received a magic pet unicorn through the mail?

DIY Mustache Cups

 I (finally) hopped on the vinyl train.  I put together a little bucket of green treats for my secret sister at work and I decided to include some green cups...with mustaches.

 I used a pattern (download one free here) on card stock.

 I had help.

 I traced it on some vinyl (they sell waterproof vinyl that can we washed).

 Peel and press.  It doesn't get much easier than this!

Leprechaun Poop

Here's an easy treat that appeals to the child in us all.  Leprechaun Poop!  Collect the green candies from M&M's or Skittles...bag and tag 'em up and pass these out to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day.  Here is a free printable to add to your bag of gross goodies.  If I really thought about this....I might be a little concerned about the amount of time I dedicate to created holiday poops....so....I'm not going to think about it...

Mail A Pot O' Gold

 This year, one of my New Year's resolutions was to send a surprise through the mail each month.  I sent a card in January to a friend I've taken for granted lately, a package in February, and now I'm ready for March.  This little guy is going to be shipped out at the first of March to a friend of mine who I think will appreciate the surprise.
Lately, I've really been into making cards..or rather, I've been into WANTING to make cards, but I haven't had the time or supplies to get too many put together, so this is my third little card.  Apparently, I'm also into MINI cards...

 For this card I used some washi tape, rhinestones, baker's twine, and these felt clovers (from the button section in JoAnn's crafts).

 Simple, but cute....and it has inspired me to put together some larger versions of these guys, but this one had to fit in this little box...

I felled a little plastic box with some green shred and these little gold treasure chocolates.  I slipped the card inside and then it's off to the mail to find it's way East to a friendship I treasure....see what I did there? ;o)

Saint Patrick's Day
